Community Outreach Program

The Community Outreach Program seeks to provide Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine students, faculty, and staff with the opportunities and support to integrate community outreach, health promotion, and service activities into their day-to-day life experiences. Each year, we kick-off our program with a service activity, such as helping package non-perishable foods at the local food bank. Volunteers are asked to donate their time, talent, and support to organizations or people in the community that are in need of assistance. Current activities being pursued by students includes working with the following organizations:

  • Bradley Free Clinic

  • Habitat for Humanity

  • Philippine-American Association of the Roanoke Valley

  • Roanoke City Public Schools

  • Roanoke Valley Governor’s School for Science and Technology

  • Ronald McDonald House

  • West Salem Elementary School
