Service Learning Project Presentations

  • When April 28 , 2014, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Where Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, M203
2 Riverside Circle, Roanoke, VA 24016

Members of the Class of 2017 will present their service learning projects to the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Roanoke communities on April 28. Beginning at 2:30 p.m., each group will offer an oral presentation, to be followed by poster presentations from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m.

The projects are the culmination of several-month-long collaborations among medical students, Jefferson College of Health Sciences students, and community members. Each student team has spent several hours each week working with its chosen service organization. The projects offer the opportunity to interact with the public, work as a team, and work with populations with whom many have had little experience. They also allow medical students to become acquainted with other health care professionals.

A gallery of last year's projects—and project presentations—is available here.
