Using molecular, physiological, and behavioral manipulations, Dr. Nathaniel is interested in understanding the mechanisms of neuroprotection to identify novel treatments and interventions for ischemic stroke patients. Dr. Nathaniel will highlight advances in our understanding of brain mechanisms underpinning neuroprotection in unique animal models. He will also discuss how this translates to bedside treatment of stroke patients.
