The director of academic counseling and enrichment services duties include: advising students on academic, personal, and interpersonal concerns; assistance with finding a tutor; providing guidance to students on successful multiple choice exam taking, test anxiety, time management, and other academic success strategies. The ACES Director is also a resource for students struggling with personal and interpersonal issues.

The director of student affairs duties include: managing the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) system and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) for residency applications; point of contact for the Careers in Medicine (CiM) program and Physician Thought Leader Communities (PTLC); serve as notary public; responsible for student handbook; liaison for student service referrals; career advising; managing student time away requests and attendance; processing club/org/student interest group reimbursements and managing financial accounts; and overseeing room reservations.

The student affairs manager duties include: initial point of contact for the Office of Student Affairs inquires from parents, students, and community members; assisting with student ceremonies; management of the Office of Student Affairs newsletters; management of Visiting Student Application System (VSAS) and away electives rotations; maintenance of VTCSOM's course catalog; assisting Associate Dean for Clinical Years 3 & 4 in management in Year 4 planning, including lottery, student evaluations and course scheduling; management of Camp Carilion’s session designed to expose middle school students to science and medicine fields.
