SA-4512 Student Parking

1.0        Guideline

Parking is free for all students. Students must register their vehicles with the Office of Student Affairs to receive a parking decal. Vehicles must have the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine parking decal displayed on the right side of the rearview mirror.

Parking is restricted to Level 3 or higher of the Riverside Garage Monday through Friday (7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.).

During evening hours (5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) and on weekends, students may park on any level of the parking garage and/or in the employee parking areas under and/or behind 2 Riverside.

Parking is never permitted in the fire lane (marked with red paint).

During rotations at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, students should park in the Riverview parking deck. Violations of this policy will result in being ticketed. When ticketed, this will be considered a breach of student professionalism and will be addressed by the Office of Student Affairs.

If ticketed more than once, your vehicle is subject to be towed. The student would be responsible for any expenses that result from unauthorized parking (e.g., ticketing, towing).

Violations

• 1st offense – warning
• 2nd offense – must schedule meeting with Assistant Dean for Student Vitality & Director for Student Affairs
• 3rd offense – written notice of unprofessionalism provided to MSPPC
