Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine welcomed its new class of future doctors and surgeons.

These 43 students were chosen from almost four thousand applications. The program has a 100 percent matching rate to residency since it opened in August of 2010. Several students say Tech's success rate and intimate setting is was attracted them to the school.

"Having that small close-knit environment, coming from a school with 40,000 kids, to a class size of 42 is pretty nice and a change of pace," said Andrew Brown.

The new Hokies are expected to graduate in 20-22, which will mark 150 years since the founding of the school.
