You are invited to a lecture and workshop by Professor Kathleen Fitzpatrick as part of Virginia Tech’s Beyond Boundaries initiative on Tuesday, October 8 at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Dr. Fitzpatrick is Director of Digital Humanities and Professor of English at Michigan State University. Her most recent book, Generous Thinking: the University and the Public Good, is a framework for rethinking the role of the university in the community, state, nation and the world, by leading with an emphasis on generosity, knowledge sharing and the co-creation of knowledge.

Dr. Fitzpatrick’s discussions with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM), Carilion Clinic, and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) students, staff and faculty will center on connections between diversity, inclusion, empathy, generous thinking and the communities we are charged to serve.

Students, staff, faculty, researchers and clinicians are invited to join Dr. Fitzpatrick for a lecture on Tuesday, October 8 at 10:15-11:30 AM in M203 VTC building at 2 Riverside Drive. Members of the Roanoke community are also invited to attend the lecture.
