Financial Education Programming
Throughout your medical school journey, you’ll encounter a series of intentional, phase-specific financial wellness programs designed to support you at each stage — from your first year through residency preparation. These sessions are planned in advance to provide timely guidance on budgeting, student loans, financial aid management, and long-term planning, helping you make confident financial decisions as your training — and life — progress.
Phase 1
- First Year Orientation (R) - This presentation is mandatory for all year 1 students.
- Entrance Counseling Online (R) – All medical students who are first-time Federal loan borrowers are required to complete the online Entrance Counseling at www.studentloans.gov.
- Credit/Identity Theft Session (R) - This presentation is mandatory for all year 2 students.
Year 3 / Phase 2
- Debt Management Session (R) - This presentation is mandatory for all year 3 students.
Year 4 / Phase 3
All these sessions are part of Transition to Residency for current Year 4 students. As the class of 2028 moves into Phase three, this content will be woven into the intersession curriculum.

One on One Counseling
One on one counseling is available for all students through the entire four year journey as a medical student.
