Point-of-Care Ultrasound Club

Mission

The mission of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Club at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine is to expand student knowledge, confidence, and practical skill in ultrasonography. The organization provides hands-on scanning opportunities, faculty-guided workshops, peer instruction, clinical case discussions, and exposure to the diagnostic and procedural applications of ultrasound across medical specialties. Its purpose is to supplement the medical curriculum, promote safe and evidence-based ultrasound use, and prepare students to integrate POCUS appropriately into future patient care.
