Addiction Medicine Student Interest Group

About Us

We are a student led group interested in providing education opportunities to fellow students about the diverse field of addiction medicine and connect fellow students with opportunities to aid our community. 

Our goals are to help students learn about careers in the field, improve the addiction medicine curriculum at VTCSOM, and promote evidence-based approaches to prevention, treatment, and recovery support for substance use disorders.  We also hope to build clinical skills, reduce stigma around substance use disorders, and strengthen advocacy within our medical school and the Southwest Virginia community.
