Cardiothoracic Surgery Interest Group

Mission

The mission of the VTC Cardiothoracic Surgery Interest Group (CTSIG) is to inspire and support the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons. We aim to bridge the gap between preclinical education and clinical practice by providing medical students with early exposure to the field, formal mentorship from VTC faculty, and a deeper understanding of the diverse career pathways within cardiac and thoracic surgery. We strive to prepare students for surgical residency by providing hands-on opportunities in surgical simulation and virtual reality training, while cultivating a community of mentorship and research.
