Advanced Degree Opportunities

VTC offers learners a variety of advanced degree opportunities. The details and the timing of these degree programs should be discussed with Aubrey Knight, MD, the Senior Dean for Student Affairs.

Options include the following programs:

Master in Business Administration (MBA)

The Virginia Tech MD/MBA option gives VTCSOM students the option to complete their MBA courses in one year between M2 and M3. MBA courses are delivered fully online. 50% of the coursework is completed synchronously during periodic class weekend and the remaining 50% is delivered asynchronously. Through this program, practitioners ultimately become skilled in both medicine and management. If you'd like to learn more about the MD/MBA option, please review the PowerPoint or contact Rebecca McGill, Associate Director of MBA Recruiting, at rmcgill@vt.edu or 703-538-8497.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health

Master of Science (MS)

Doctorate in Translational Biology, Medicine and Health (PhD)

For additional information on how to incorporate the advanced degree options above into the medical doctorate program of study, please consult with Dr. Aubrey Knight, MD. Students with questions directly related to the Translational Biology, Medicine and Health programs are encouraged to contact Veronica Van Montfrans, PhD.
