Atrium, Green Roof, and Café

Welcome to the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine! The atrium is often a guestʼs first point of entry. It's situated between the medical school and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute halves of the building. It's quite spacious with lots of windows to let in plenty of natural light. At its rear is a small green roof, which allows for some outdoor space and greenery close by. Directly adjacent to the atrium is the café. This space is used day-to-day as a place where students, faculty, and staff can enjoy meals with each other. The atrium and café are also frequently used as event spaces, where guests can gather for conversation or enjoy snacks and drinks together.
