Message From Alumni Working Group Chair
One of the greatest markers of our alma mater's success is the caliber of its graduates. We were formative in shaping the school into what it is today, and I want us all to take pride in calling VTCSOM our very own. In order to do this, my goal is to act as a representative voice for you and our colleagues, to ensure we stay connected with VTC and the Roanoke community at all stages of our careers. I welcome any suggestions you may have to make this website informative and interesting to you. As always, thank you for being an ambassador for Virginia Tech Carilion.

Did you have a personal or professional change?
Are you moving on to private practice, or a fellowship? Did you get married? Have a baby? Get published, receive an award, or promoted?
Please share your personal and professional joys with us so we can share with the VTCSOM community.
Since 2016, VTC School of Medicine Alumni Association sponsors the HOST program, where willing alumni provided lodging to our current students who were embarking on their residency interviews. This has been so well received, by both alumni and students; we are excited to continue the program. Learn more about this program and how you can contribute.
White Coat Ceremony - Alumni Letters
In 2017 we pioneered the alumni letter program as part of the White Coat Ceremony. As the students donned their White Coats for the first time, they found a surprise in the coat pockets - a letter from a VTCSOM alum!
These letters were so well received that we ask you, our alumni, to consider writing a student in the class a note that we will put in the pockets of their white coats. It could be your reflections, advice, or a word of encouragement – really anything you think could be impactful for our newest students.
