Lecture Hall

The first floor is home to the lecture hall – which is about half the size of the auditorium, and is the perfect space for smaller lectures and events 100 people or under. It is also where our first-year students gather each Friday for patient case wrap-up. There’s a plaque in the room dedicated to “Keith’s Wrap-up” to honor a donor who created a fund to help with any patient and physician travel or other expenses required to bring the patient and doctor to the medical school each week.

Some of my formative moments have happened in this room because it's a rare opportunity to actually meet the patient that the case was written about. We come here and we gather and we learn the patients' perception of their disease process and we learn what is important to them and how it's affected their family. And I think as future doctors, this is something that I personally will integrate into my future care.
