Standing VTCSOM Committees

Our governance system is a shared process of decision making concerning policies and institutional operation. Our governance bodies represent constituent groups at all levels and we aim to give the entire community a represented voice in shaping our university. Faculty members of VTCSOM (except visiting faculty) are eligible to serve standing VTCSOM committees of the faculty as described in the Office of Faculty Affairs administrative guidelines and procedures. Interested faculty must meet the requirements of Virginia Tech and/or VTCSOM to be elected to serve.

VTCSOM Faculty Committees

Formal mechanisms of shared governance, representing faculty perspectives in academic policy and decision-making. Membership is typically faculty-elected or otherwise representative.

VTCSOM Administrative Committees

Generally led through the Dean's Office, consist largely of dean-appointed members, and advise the dean or support institutional operations rather than exercising faculty governance authority.
