Faculty Outreach Excellence Awards

Dear VTCSOM Faculty,

I am writing to let you know about several upcoming award opportunities. The VTCSOM College Award is supported by the VT Department of Outreach and International Affairs. The others are funded through the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.

The deadline for submission of nomination packages for all of these awards is 4pm EST on Monday, January 31, 2022.

The different awards are listed below. Additional information - award criteria, monetary amounts, how to apply - is provided on the attached documents.

VTCSOM College Award for Outreach Excellence

College awards for outreach and engagement are solicited and evaluated by individual colleges. Recipients of the college-level awards receive a $500 award and a plaque. Both instructional and research faculty are eligible for this award. Previous winners of this award are Jennifer Cleveland, PharmD, BCPS, MBA, Jack Perkins, MD, and Karen Perkins, MD.

VT Alumni Award for Outreach Excellence – Individual and Team

The recipient of the Alumni Award for Outreach Excellence, Individual Achievement, will receive a monetary award of $2,000 and a plaque, and those recognized for Team Achievement will share $2,000 and a plaque. Both instructional and research faculty are eligible for these awards.

VT Alumni Award for Excellence in International Education

Each winner receives a suitable memento and $2,000. Instructional, research, and administrative/professional faculty, as well as instructors and staff are eligible for this award.
