Altered Art brings new life to old art
August 21, 2024
Not every piece of art has an eternal life. Found, damaged, discarded, or outgrown pieces may be given a new life in the right hands! The artists in this show have added elements, words, or objects; removed or replaced visual aspects; added objects - found or collected; collaged, painted, or altered existing art bringing their creativity into the spotlight.
To be human is to create, and ultimately all art builds on the creativity of others when integrated into the next generation of creatives. Altered art is a great way to explore, re-vision, and explore your humanity/creativity in collaboration with artists from the past.
Artist’s Reception and Gallery Opening September 19, 5:30
VTCSOM's Believe in Art club invites you to explore the realm of possibilities of giving art a new life in its fall art show "Altered Art."
The student/faculty/staff art projects will hang on the walls of the medical school along with other pieces from regional artists through the fall, and everyone will be invited to a community reception on September 19 to celebrate the art and artists.
