JumpStart Program for 11th & 12th graders
Program date: January - May
Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, in partnership with Virginia Tech’s College Access Collaborative is excited to launch JumpStart Program for juniors and seniors.
JumpStart is an annual educational outreach program for 50 high-potential 11th and 12th grade students who are passionate about science and health-related careers.
The program provides the students a realistic look at what life is like as a pre-med student, medical student, and a medical professional. The program will consist of Saturday sessions at Virginia Tech’s Health Sciences and Technology Campus in Roanoke that provides hand-on, minds-on opportunities to learn about medical careers, problem-based learning, teamwork, conflict-resolution, and utilizing your strengths.
Students are required to remain fully engaged with the program from January to May.
