Accreditation

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine has a certificate to operate from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and to offer degrees and programs of study leading to a degree in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine has received initial accreditation at Level V from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, effective January 1, 2014.

Effective June 19, 2014, the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) granted full accreditation for a term of five years to the medical education program leading to the MD degree at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
