Sunrise over the Blue Ridge

Sunrises, like the seasons, form a foundation of hope and trust that the universe will indeed carry on. My friend Carla Scott took the photograph that inspired this watercolor on the Blue Ridge Parkway near her home in Bent Mountain. When I asked her permission to paint what she had already captured so beautifully, I hoped to do justice both to her art and to the Art that endures in this creation we call home.
