He would frequently use downtime to thoroughly walk students through teaching points that came up on rounds, explain interesting EKG findings and expand on their causes/implications/treatments, and answer student questions regarding medical ethics in our patients' care, how/why decisions were made during codes/rapids, etc. He also made a significant effort to push the team to critically think about our patients' care and how we could optimize it. He was very supportive and encouraged medical students in get involved the decision making process. He gave us adequate space and time to work through problems and practice our presentations on rounds.
