Once students begin the decision process for which specialty they would like to go into during residency we encourage identification of a specialty advisor. Students are encouraged to seek specialty advisors to help guide them through the process of applying for residency in that specialty. Students are allowed to identify as many specialty advisors deemed necessary. The Office of Student Affairs should be notified via email once specialty advisors have been chosen.

Selecting a Specialty

Selecting a specialty can be a difficult task primarily because there are more than 120 specialties and subspecialties to choose from. The AAMC Careers in Medicine website provides an enormous amount of information on each of the specialties available.
