photo of someone in a whitecoat from the shoulders down to the waist. the person is holding a stethoscope. inside the pockets are the words: lifelong learning, courage, empathy, curiosity; commitment, compassion, service, creativity, and a maxwell book

The pockets of our white coats can fit many things: pens, reflex hammers, notepads, eye charts, and much more! Though the contents change with our experiences across specialties, patient encounters, and various medical care settings, there are a few things that we as medical students at VTC always strive to carry: empathy, curiosity, courage, lifelong learning, creativity, compassion, service, as well as a commitment to our current and future patients.
