2015 White Coat Ceremony

Dr. James Sherman, professor of pediatrics, is the keynote speaker during the class of 2019's White Coat Ceremony" at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. The annual event marks the passage of beginning medical student's new place within the medical community. (


Members of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine’s Class of 2019 received their white coats in a ceremony on October 23, 2015. The school’s leadership team—including Dr. Cynda Johnson, dean, and Dr. Daniel Harrington, vice dean—helped the students into their coats for the first time, symbolically inviting them into the practice of medicine.
