Professional Background
Dr. Paul A. Haskins joined Carilion Clinic in 1997. He is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician. He has served as Medical Director of the Carilion Transfer and Operations Center since 2014. He has been a Board Member of the Carilion Medical Center since 2018. His emergency medicine interests include clinical medicine and hospital operations. Dr. Haskins estimates he has seen more than 70,000 patients in his medical career.
Dr. Haskins has practiced in the Carilion Health System since graduating residency at Carilion Roanoke Community and Memorial Emergency Departments. He is an assistant professor with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Dr. Haskins has received awards for bedside teaching in emergency medicine, bedside manners, top provider in emergency medicine and The Roanoker Magazine Emergency Medicine Specialist of the year. He was named outstanding resident in emergency medicine at the State University of New York, Buffalo.
