Position Responsibilities
In this inaugural role, Barrett will lead the school’s finance and business operations as well as the budget and planning processes associated with future growth in enrollment and research operations that were presented to the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors at its August meeting. She will be instrumentally involved in other administrative projects, including design of a new medical school building and the school’s upcoming reaccreditation process.
Professional Background
Barrett earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech. After working 11 years in industry, she spent 12 years at Virginia Tech working in the Controller’s Office and as business manager in the College of Engineering. In 2017, she moved to Radford University, where she served in a variety of roles culminating in her most recent position as assistant vice president for planning, budget, and reporting.
