The Virginia Council on Women, in partnership with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine will host the Virginia Women’s Summit on Wednesday, July 31 at 4:00-6:00 PM at 2 Riverside Drive in Roanoke.

The Virginia Council on Women was established in 2017 as an advisory council in the Executive branch of state government. The Women’s Summit brings together women in business, education, law, hospitality, healthcare, government, and the military to identify new and innovative ways to engage Virginia women and help them reach their full potential.

This year, the Summit will focus on Maternal Health, in alignment with Governor Ralph Northam’s aim to significantly reduce Virginia’s maternal mortality rate, and eliminate maternal health racial disparities by 2025. The Summit will include a diverse panel of medical students, practitioners and community-based care providers to help demystify maternal racial disparities in the commonwealth. The program will be followed by a reception.

Register for the program here. The program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Karyna Nevarez at InclusiveVTC@vt.edu / 540-526-2161.
