Emily Holt Foerst promoted to Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

VTCSOM is pleased to announce the promotion of Emily Holt Foerst to Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

Dr. Holt Foerst has a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Higher and Adult Education both from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She received a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education from the Virginia Tech in 2022. 

Holt Foerst was hired as the founding Director of Academic Counseling and Enrichment Services at VTCSOM in 2014. She will retain that role but in her new role will take on greater responsibilities related to student academic success.

Senior Dean for Student Affairs, Aubrey Knight commented, “Dr. Holt Foerst has played a very important role in the success of students and graduates of VTCSOM. She is a student of learning theories who is able to translate her knowledge and expertise to each individual learner. She is also an innovator who seeks to find resources and solutions always aimed at student success.”

Holt Foerst assumed the title of Assistant Dean on July 1, 2022.
