PRS is an incredibly creative specialty that deals with the repair, reconstruction, or replacement of physical defects of form or function of the human body.
Plastic surgeons treat a variety of problems from congenital issues to trauma to cancer reconstruction, while offering several fellowship options: craniofacial, hand, microsurgery, pediatric, burn, and aesthetic/breast.
Benefits of joining this interest group
Research Opportunities
Attendings and residents are always looking for help on research projects! The PRSIG is working on establishing regular communication with the department about manuscripts and projects.
Special Events
PRSIG will be organizing fun events, such as suture clinics, cleft carnival, guest speakers, and more!
Shadowing and Weekly Conferences
The plastic surgery department holds weekly conferences with residents to discuss various educational topics related to plastic surgery (kind of like PBL).
Conference and shadowing are great ways to meet the residents and attendings and learn more about plastic surgery!
