Whether you're interested in surgery, want to learn more about it, or just want to learn some hands-on skills taught by surgeons, the surgery interest group facilitates learning as well as exploration of the vast field of surgery.
We gear workshops toward the ever-evolving interests of students as they move through their education by tailoring workshops toward top interests.
We provide hands-on skills that allow students to excel on their rotation, shadowing, and hopefully, their career as well as help facilitate networking.
Past workshops have included
- suture practice
- scrub training in the simulation OR
- Q&A with surgery residents
- trauma scenarios with focus on eFAST at the Carilion Simulation Center.
